Services & Rates

Initial Program Development

60 minutes: $249.00

The first meeting will be a consultation and physical fitness assessment.  During this session we will get to know each other and you will be able to determine if we are a good fit, and schedule future sessions.  We will discuss your fitness history, goals, any relevant health issues, and assess your current physical fitness level.  (Don't be nervous, it's easy and we all have to start somewhere.  It's where you go from here that matters.)  With this information, and pending your decision to start training with me, I will design a program specifically for you.

This price may seem high at first.  However, this is a one time expense that won't be repeated as long as you remain a client without significant breaks that would alter your fitness level requiring a new assessment.  This program and future adjustments to it, will evolve as you progress, and those subsequent program changes are free of charge. 

The price is primarily for the development of your program as well as advice provided.  If at the end of our initial discussion you decide it is not a good fit, and are not interested in a program, there is no charge just for the initial meeting.  The reason for this initial cost is the time and effort needed to get you off to the right start so you will succeed in your efforts.  This generally requires several hours of work on my part to make a program tailored to your specific needs and goals.

Private Training Session

30-45 minutes: $65.00

I will be your personal coach during these training sessions providing instruction and when necessary, motivation.  I will ensure you are training in the most effective and safe manner.

You may wonder why the sessions are not for an hour.  I have found ways to make your training not only more effective, but efficient.  Much time is wasted in the gym with unnecessary chatter (we can chat after the session or on the phone if we need to), doing non-productive, unnecessary exercises, and generally wasting effort.  Your sessions with me will be highly focused, appropriately intense, and therefore necessarily brief.  I don't want to waste your time or money.

Private Training Session - 6 Session Package

30 -45 minutes: $370

When you purchase six sessions at once you save just over 5% compared to what you would pay by purchasing them separately.  The reason I can afford to do this is that you make predicting my training schedule easier.  Also, you are showing commitment to achieving your fitness goals.  Your success in achieving your fitness goals is my success as your coach, so your commitment is a benefit to me in that way as well.  As a result I pass the savings onto you as a personal sign of gratitude for that convenience for me and as a reward for your display of dedication.

Private Training Session - 12 Session Package

30-45 minutes: $700

When you purchase twelve sessions at once you save just over 10% compared to what you would pay by purchasing them separately.  The reason I can afford to do this is that you make predicting my training schedule easier.  Also, you are showing commitment to achieving your fitness goals.  Your success in achieving your fitness goals is my success as your coach, so your commitment is a benefit to me in that way as well.  As a result I pass the savings onto you as a personal sign of gratitude for that convenience for me and as a reward for your display of dedication.

Program & Principles Training

60 minutes: $274

It is good to take control of your own fitness; to learn the principles, art, and science of fitness.  Doing so will give you an independence to get and remain optimally fit throughout your life without having to depend on outside sources.  However, there exists a lot of confusing and contradictory information being propagated in the fitness industry.  And with the time it takes to research and experiment with different (and sometimes wrong) ideas, much time can be wasted and potential progress lost, as you discover what does and doesn’t work.  Then of course, there is always the question of where to start. If you have found trying to figure out the true principles of fitness and how to apply and adapt them to your own goals to be frustrating, but want to train on your own, this may be for you.  

I humbly offer you a personally tailored program designed by an educated and experienced personal trainer (me) to get you started immediately toward both your physical fitness goals and learning the principles of fitness (and applications thereof) for yourself.  I will provide you with a detailed explanation of the principles behind your program and why they apply.  You will understand how the programing is designed, why it is designed that way, and ultimately how to apply the principles yourself for changing circumstances and goals in the future.  The programs are designed for six-week periods to be followed by you on your own, while I remain available to answer questions or provide other consultation.  Also, it’s not a requirement, but for those who wish, I recommend we talk on a weekly basis (minimum) for program review.  This helps us to identify and overcome any obstacles to your training that you may encounter, or to optimize your program should you make progress faster than you expect.  (These adaptive progress changes are free of charge for the six-week period).
